Job summary

Scale AI is hiring a Staff Frontier Agent Engineer (Forward Deployed Engineering) in San Francisco to architect, deploy, and operate production AI systems for enterprise customers.

You will blend distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and frontier AI to deliver reliable enterprise software, working directly with customers to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions and best-practice architectures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems.
• Strong Python programming skills for production software.
• Experience with AI-powered applications using LLM APIs and agent frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern production infra.
• Excellent communication with enterprise teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy production AI systems integrated into enterprise environments.
• Design scalable agent architectures with LLMs, retrieval, tools, and data.
• Lead architecture discussions with customers and Scale teams.
• Ensure security, governance, and compliance in deployments.
• Drive production deployment and observability improvements.
