Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Front Server to deliver exceptional food and beverage service in our fine dining context. You will greet guests, assist with menu knowledge, handle POS transactions, and support team members to ensure smooth service across shifts.

Qualified candidates will follow Brand standards, maintain guest focus, and participate in ongoing training while contributing to a high-energy, guest-centric dining environment.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to follow service standards and brand manuals.
• Comfortable with upselling and point-of-sale procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow service guidelines according to Brand standards.
• Ensure table is properly set for each course.
• Provide support to Captain and knowledge of menu items.
• Follow sales techniques outlined in the service manual.
• Handle checkout and cash procedures accurately.
• Keep service area clean and organized.
• Return items to zoned locations and complete shift paperwork.
• Participate in training and mentor new staff.
• Adhere to opening/closing checklists and cleaning schedules.

The Front Server serves meals to patrons in fine dining establishment by performing the following duties:

Key Job Functions

• Follow service guidelines according to the Brand standards in the Service Manual.
• Ensures that the table is properly set for each course, according to Service Standards.
• Provides support to Captain.
• Must be knowledgeable of all Food and Beverage menu items.
• Must follow proper sales techniques, as outlined in the service manual.
• Responsible for following proper check-out and cash handling procedures as outlined in training material.
• Must keep service area and tools clean and organized.
• Responsible for returning all items to their zoned location.
• Attends all ongoing training sessions.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff.
• Must follow all prescribed systems of organization and cleanliness.
• Must complete all before, during and after shift paperwork.
• Responsible for following all opening and closing checklists and side work
• Must follow all daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.
