Job summary

Kettering Health Network in Kettering, OH is seeking a Front Office Administrative Assistant to provide patient-centered administrative support in a physician office on a PRN, first-shift basis.

You will be the first point of contact for the office, handling calls, greeting patients, registering them, and assisting with chart preparation and check-out duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous front office or general office experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
• Patient, courteous and tactful with good interpersonal skills.
• Able to follow directions and perform repetitive tasks.
• Computer literate: Word processing and email.
• Epic/EMR experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer and screen incoming calls; greet and register patients.
• File and prepare charts; perform check-out duties.
• Review encounter form data and collect co-payments.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and day-end reconciliation.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Under the supervision of the provider and/or practice leader, provides administrative support throughout the practice. This position is typically the first point of contact (phone and in-person) for the office. This position is responsible for answering, handling and screening incoming telephone calls; greeting and registering patients, filing and preparing charts. In addition, this position is responsible for check-out functions, including review of encounter form data, collection of co-payments, scheduling follow-up appointments; day-end reconciliation duties.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous front office experience or background in general office work.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality/discretion.
• Must be patient, courteous, and tactful.
• Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments and the public.
• Ability to follow direction, accept orders and perform repetitive tasks.

Computer literate in use of word processing and email

Preferred Qualifications

Positions are available in all regions of KHMG.

• Must have valid Ohio driver’s license
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record

• Electronic medical records experience preferred.
• Epic training/knowledge preferred.
