Experience in hospitality is helpful but not required; a poised, professional communicator with a welcoming attitude will thrive. The role supports a dynamic team in a historic hotel with strong guest-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience is not required; a fun and welcoming personality is a must.
• Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of current hotel and nearby events.
• A minimum of 1–2 years hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written is a must.
• Possess poise, elegance and calm demeanor in all situations.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule is required to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Answer reservation calls, emails, and online inquiries professionally.
• Process new reservations, changes, and cancellations accurately.
• Provide guests with information about rooms, rates, amenities, and hotel services.
• Promote room upgrades and special offers when appropriate.
• Coordinate guest requests with hotel departments to ensure a seamless stay.
• Maintain accurate reservation records and guest profiles.
• Resolve reservation-related guest concerns promptly and professionally.

Job description

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter’s 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel’s 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building’s legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan – a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.

Core Essential Functions

• Answer reservation calls, emails, and online inquiries professionally.

• Process new reservations, changes, and cancellations accurately.

• Provide guests with information about rooms, rates, amenities, and hotel services.

• Promote room upgrades and special offers when appropriate.

• Coordinate guest requests with hotel departments to ensure a seamless stay.

• Maintain accurate reservation records and guest profiles.

• Resolve reservation-related guest concerns promptly and professionally.

Compensation

$24.00 per hour
