Scarlet Oak Tavern is seeking a friendly Restaurant Host to be the first point of contact for guests. You will manage reservations, seating, and guest needs with a welcoming demeanor.

This full-time role requires hospitality passion, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced front-of-house environment. You will work closely with the restaurant team to ensure a smooth service, maintain a clean host stand, and help create memorable experiences for guests and teammates.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.
• Passion for hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
• Warm, welcoming personality—smile, have fun, and make people feel welcome.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Keep calm and professional during busy periods.
• Take direction and work well in a team.
• Attention to detail and anticipating guest and team needs.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a warm, genuine greeting.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating for organized flow.
• Coordinate with servers and managers to attend guests promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of menu, specials, and offerings to inform guests.
• Answer questions and provide recommendations.
• Anticipate guest needs to enhance their experience.
• Address guest concerns professionally with management when needed.
• Keep host stand and front-of-house area clean and welcoming.
• Support team to ensure smooth service; perform other duties as assigned.
