Job summary

Chick-fil-A Lakewood in Lakewood, CA is seeking a Front of House Director to lead the people and systems shaping the guest experience. You will ensure hospitality, speed, and accuracy across all FOH functions while building a stronger department through coaching and training.

You will work with the Owner/Operator and restaurant leaders to drive performance, develop managers, and implement improvements that elevate guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced restaurant or service environment.
• Proven ability to develop leaders and improve team performance.
• Strong data-driven decision making and use of metrics to drive improvements.
• Comfortable with performance coaching and direct team feedback.
• Willingness to open/close shifts and manage peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead FOH operations across front counter, drive-thru, dining room, and handoffs with consistent hospitality and accuracy.
• Develop managers and team leaders to run strong shifts and coach effectively.
• Partner with HR and restaurant leadership on hiring, onboarding, and staffing needs.
• Own FOH training execution and ensure teams demonstrate required skills.
• Plan schedules and deployment around guest demand while balancing service and labor goals.

Owner/Operator and partner with other restaurant leaders to move the business

What You’ll Own:

• Lead front counter, drive-thru, dining room, and order handoff operations,delivering consistent hospitality, speed, accuracy, and cleanliness.
• Develop managers and team leaders who can run strong shifts, coach effectively, and take ownership of their responsibilities.
• Partner with HR and restaurant leadership on hiring, onboarding, staffing needs, and performance management.
• Own FOH training execution, ensuring team members demonstrate the skills needed for their positions and leaders follow through on training plans.
• Plan schedules and deployment around guest demand, balancing service needs, labor goals, and appropriate break coverage.
• Build and maintain clear routines for opening, closing, stocking, cleaning, and shift handoffs.
• Review performance data, identify recurring problems, and lead improvements with clear owners and follow-up.
• Address guest concerns with care and use feedback to improve the team’s service.
• Partner with the BOH Director to coordinate production and service so guests receive accurate orders and quality food.
• Set expectations, recognize strong performance, and address gaps promptly through direct, respectful coaching.

How Success Is Measured:

You’ll be accountable for agreed-upon department goals, with regular performance

reviews alongside the Owner/Operator. Key measures include:

• Guest satisfaction, hospitality feedback, and resolution of recurring guest concerns.
• Speed of service, drive-thru throughput, and order accuracy.
• Labor productivity and execution of staffing and scheduling plans.
• Training completion, demonstrated team readiness, and leadership development.
• Team retention and consistent follow-through on coaching.
• Cleanliness, food safety, and completion of operational routines.
• Progress on department improvement plans and restaurant priorities.

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience leading teams in a busy restaurant, hospitality, retail, or similar service environment.
• A track record of developing leaders and improving team performance. The ability to balance warm hospitality with efficient execution.
• Confidence using performance data to make decisions and solve problems.
• Strong planning, scheduling, organization, and follow-through.
• A willingness to have direct conversations, receive feedback, and hold yourself accountable.
• Composure during busy periods and a readiness to work alongside your team.
• Availability to support the opening, closing, and peak periods required by the role.
