Job summary

King's Hawaiian in Torrance, CA is seeking a friendly, customer-focused team member for front-of-house duties in our bakery and dining area.

You will greet customers with Aloha, take and explain orders, answer phones, operate the POS, balance cash, and assist with cleaning, restocking and sanitation while upholding an inclusive, upbeat service culture. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays; tips offered.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English with clear verbal communication skills.
• Basic math and common sense logical reasoning ability.
• Able to report to work physically and mentally ready to do the job; substance-free environment.
• Able to work assigned schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with Aloha spirit and take orders; explain dishes and bakery items.
• Answer phones, take orders, and input into POS system with strong customer service.
• Identify customer issues or complaints and report to management.
• Operate cash register, handle cash and balance at end of shift.
• Advise management on refunds or credits for returned merchandise as needed.
• Follow sanitation guidelines as prescribed by health department.
• Assist in bakery and kitchen departments as needed.
• Restock restrooms and complete other cleaning duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Answers phones and takes orders and inputs into the POS system utilizing excellent customer service skills.
• Identify customer issues or complaints and report to management.
• Operates cash register following sales and cash handling and balances at end of each shift.
• Advises management when guests request cash refunds or credits for returned merchandise.
• Follows all sanitation guidelines as prescribed by the health department.
• Assists in bakery and kitchen departments as needed.
• Restocking the restrooms and completing other cleaning duties as assigned.

Skills / Experience

• Proficient in English with clear verbal communication skills.

Compensation: $16.90/hour + tips
