Job summary

Waste Pro of Florida in Fort Myers, FL is hiring a Front Load CDL Driver to service commercial accounts and operate a front-load refuse truck on pre-assigned routes. You will perform pre-trip inspections, communicate with customers, and maintain professionalism on every route.

Qualified candidates must have a valid Class A or B CDL, be at least 21 years old, understand DOT rules, and be able to read and speak English.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
• Speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors; understand highway and traffic signals; make legible entries on paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Servicing commercial business and picking up Front Load Containers, empties containers using levers inside truck cab and accesses containers as needed.
• Completes route/productivity sheets, logs mileage, fuel consumption, and other forms.
• Communicates professionally with customers and reports issues to appropriate contacts; maintains courteous service.
• Ensures safety of each employee by performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and handling materials appropriately.
• Keeps truck clean, inspects under the hood, and performs routine maintenance checks.
