Job summary

The Pay-O-Matic Corporation is seeking a Front-Line Customer Service Representative in Brooklyn, NY to handle a range of transactions and provide excellent service. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and across nearby stores as needed.

You will process checks, money transfers, bill payments, and pre-paid products, while building relationships with customers and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Bilingual language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Effectively identifies and responds to customers’ needs.
• Processes customer transactions including cashing checks, money transfers, bill payments and selling a wide range of pre-paid products.
• Opens new preferred customer accounts and issues cards like the inPower debit card.
• Ensures completion of customer transactions in a timely and courteous manner.
• Establishes and maintains customer accounts by updating photos, addresses, phone numbers, etc.
• Maintains working knowledge of all Payomatic’s products and services.
• Responds to customers’ inquiries regarding their accounts or products and services.
• Promotes Payomatic’s services by offering customers information on valuable services.
• Performs check verification using the Loss Prevention Department.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment by following safety policies and procedures.
• Follows all cash handling procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the store area.
• Performs routine store cleaning duties and upkeep of high-touch surfaces.
• Empties trash, replaces liners, and transports garbage as needed.
• Cleans and restocks restrooms as needed.
