Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader provides daily direction to associates in one of the store's departments, including merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities.

Essential Functions:
  1. Support the GSM / DM in achieving Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage, and Payroll Goals.
  2. Provide daily direction to department associates.
  3. Prepare to-do / task lists.
  4. Execute merchandising directives and maintain plan-o-grams as set by the Corporate Office.
  5. Ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for customers.
  6. Assist in staffing, training, scheduling, coaching, and motivating associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team environment.
  7. Resolve customer and associate issues in collaboration with GSM / DM and HR Manager.
  8. Maintain high personal customer service levels and achieve above-average customer service results.
  9. Remain product knowledge expert through ongoing training and conduct product demos.
  10. Assist with coordinating special events, maintaining pricing and UPC integrity, and ensuring proper display and signage.
  11. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, including interviewing, training, performance evaluation, and maintaining a harassment-free environment.
  12. Create a legendary customer experience by identifying needs, making recommendations, and promoting programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pickup.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 4 years retail sales experience.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to read and analyze reports.
  • Effective communication skills with managers, associates, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations.
  • Proficiency with PC-based software and POS systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.

Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Occasional use of ladders, stairs, and operating machinery.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 20 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally.
  • Work in tight spaces and noisy environments occasionally.
Independent Judgment:

Performs duties within company policies, using judgment to adapt broad guidelines and make recommendations affecting policies and practices.
