Job summary

SpartanNash, including Family Fare, is seeking a part-time front-end associate at our Gaylord, MI store. You will handle cash transactions, assist with stocking, and support customer service, loyalty programs, and pricing accuracy.

The role emphasizes friendly guest experiences, safety, and cleanliness in a busy retail environment, with opportunities to learn store operations and participate in team tasks across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• One year retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, bottle refunds, voids, and coupons accurately.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store.
• Front-end duties such as running the cash register, suggestive selling, enrolling guests in loyalty program, maintaining a clean service area.
• Ensure proper use of product identification and PLU's; report pricing or signage errors.
• Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations; assist in flight plan execution.
• Communicate loyalty programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers; model high standards of service.
