Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math, counting, and simple arithmetic.
• Ability to handle stressful situations in a retail environment.
• Retail or Customer Service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Second language skills (speaking/reading/writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the departments and respond to questions and suggestions.
• Monitor and control supply expenses for the department.
• Manage cash control, sales and cash items and records for the store.
• Schedule Front-end associates to provide adequate department coverage.
• Assist in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take action on financial reports.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Responsible for entry-level store hiring.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Monitor and control expenses for the department.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Schedule price changes and update shelf tags/promotional signs.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Oversee and manage front-end operations.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Supervise and coach direct reports and conduct performance reviews.
