Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer – Front End for the Mission Experience team, on-site in El Segundo or Rancho Bernardo, CA. You will design, develop, test, and maintain front-end applications for autonomous Mission Management systems.

The role emphasizes strong UI/UX focus, collaboration with product, backend and QA teams, and adherence to coding standards in a fast-paced environment. Clearances and a track record with modern front-end tech are required.

Qualifications

• Active US Government clearance required.
• Experience with Agile principles, processes, and tools.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular or similar.

Responsibilities

• Implement user interfaces from design using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Develop and maintain reusable front-end components and UI patterns.
• Ensure responsive layouts and cross-browser compatibility across desktop and mobile devices.
• Integrate front-end features with backend APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Collaborate with designers to refine UI/UX and ensure design system consistency.
• Write clean, well-documented code following team standards.
