Job summary

Seward Community Co-op – Friendship Store in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Front End Shift Lead. You will supervise front end staff, perform cashiering, and ensure smooth shift operations with strong customer service.

The role reports to the Front End manager and requires leadership, reliability, and the ability to handle busy retail environments. Pays $22.00 per hour on a union wage scale, full-time status, with opportunities to support store security and team coaching.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform cashiering, bagging and customer service duties.
• Oversee opening or closing procedures.
• Coordinate shift routines, breaks, and lane rotation.
• Ensure coverage for cashier, bagging and service desk.
• Communicate updates, procedures, and policies to staff.
• Enforce Front End policies and escalate when needed.
• Check emails and huddle notes each shift.
• Assist staff with complex sales.
• Approve checks when supervisor approval is required.
• Maintain front end security and money handling.
• Address customer questions and complaints unresolved by staff.
• Notify Front End management of important updates.
• Serve as Floor Warden when required.
• Provide coaching and training to Front End staff.
• Document feedback using established procedures.
• Model professional behavior and participate in meetings.
• Support other tasks as assigned by Front End Managers.
