Job summary

Omnicare is seeking a Front End Pharmacy Technician to support a closed-door pharmacy serving long-term care facilities. The role involves order entry, collaboration with pharmacists, and delivering patient-centered service in a 24-hour facility.

Qualified candidates will have a pharmacy technician license/certification and at least 1 year of experience; preferred candidates may have LTC experience and PTCB certification.

Qualifications

• Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law.
• One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform order entry tasks and collaborate with the pharmacist in the medication dispensing process.
• Triaging customer service requests by department, urgency, and information/response required.
• Calculate and verify correct dosage based on prescriptions.
• Review narcotic Rx's for timely processing.
• Provide dispensing pharmacist with allergy and drug interaction information flagged by the system.
• Create and maintain accurate customer records.
