Job summary

Food City in Vonore, TN is seeking a Front End Supervisor to oversee the front-end operations, ensure courteous customer service, and supervise cashiers and fuel associates. The role enforces security, cash handling, and compliance with company policies, including WIC/EWIC, AML, and tax regulations.

The position requires on-site availability, strong leadership, and the ability to manage inventories and front-end processes while maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard Physical and Mental demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain efficient and courteous service to customers while following the line policy.
• Supervise front end functions and cashier, courtesy clerks, and fuel associates.
• Monitor computer room operations and coordinate lane pick-ups.
• Maintain security of safe and change funds, count safes during shifts.
• Ensure proper handling of cash, deposits, and check cashing procedures.
• Promote use of ValuCard and enforce coupon handling policies.
• Oversee front end housekeeping, clean check stands, store fronts, carts and parking lot.
• Enforce dress code and name tag usage; secure all funds and rental equipment compliance.
• Follow policies on sale of restricted items, WIC/EWIC processing, and banking/armored services.
• Assist in inventory levels for customer service area and candy racks.
• Ensure breaks and lunches are taken; verify funds with bank/armored car.
• Answer and route incoming phone calls; enforce child labor laws.
• Assist in cashier training and keep checkout lines moving; assist unloading carts.
• Follow AML and MSB compliance; perform other duties as needed.
