Job summary

Meijer Great Lakes is seeking a Service Coordinator to ensure a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading and supporting front-end operations. You will coordinate checkout flow, maintain front-end standards, and assign work to cashiers, service desk, and courtesy team members to meet productivity and service goals.

In this role you will coach teams, drive labor utilization, resolve customer issues, and act as a training resource.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team)
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment
• Good organization, detail orientation, and sense of urgency
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull/bend/squat as required by shift

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when leadership is not present
• Coordinate actions and activities to monitor shrink and financial outcomes, escalating concerns as needed
• Lead by example in community programs and TMRG engagement
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members under care scope
• Train and mentor team members on the job
• Act as SME for market programs, pilots, and development/training programs
• Assign tasks to team members in partnership with the team leader and ensure completion
