Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Front-End Supervisor at our Layton, UT location to lead the store's front-end operations and deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will direct daily functions, manage schedules, monitor cash and inventory, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have retail or customer service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Management experience is preferred.
• Front-end retail experience is desirable.
• Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the departments and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Monitor and control supply expenses for the department.
• Manage cash control, sales and cash items and records for the store.
• Develop adequate scheduling to balance customer volume with associate needs.
• Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Monitor and control expenses for the department.
• Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory.
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Support service expectations such as, but not limited to QueVision, money services, self-checkout goals.
• Ensure that all current merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules are being followed.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
• Oversee and manage the efficient operations of all functions and activities of the Front-end.
