Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking a Front End Lead to drive loyalty, improve guest throughput, and ensure accurate sales capture across all lanes with strong leadership at the front end. This role supports the Front End Leader and may handle additional tasks as assigned, with annual certification required.

The candidate will ensure the front end runs efficiently, safely, and securely to maximize Team Member and guest satisfaction, while coaching staff on service culture, compliance, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1–3 years in a relevant role.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent coverage of Self Checkout to ensure all sales are captured while delivering exceptional guest service.
• Direct traffic flow to speed up checkout and assist cashiers as needed.
• Create and manage daily schedules and break plans for efficient Front End operations; monitor cash control as needed.
• Take ownership of auxiliary Front End lines of business (gift cards, candy, etc).
• Act as point person for Front End when Front End Leader is off duty.
• Ensure daily compliance activities (AML, scale/PIN pad checks, WIC).
• Order Front End supplies with cost awareness.
• Train Front End Team Members on efficiencies, service culture, and loss prevention.
