Job summary

Giant Eagle in Mentor, OH is seeking a Front End Lead to help build loyalty, improve Guest throughput, and ensure accurate sales capture across all lanes. The Lead will provide consistent front-end leadership to keep operations safe, efficient, and secure, supporting the Front End Leader and taking ownership as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 1 to 3 years.
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds.
• Age Requirement: At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent coverage of all Self Checkout related activities ensuring all sales are accurately captured while providing unparalleled Guest service in a safe environment.
• Direct traffic flow for speedy checkout while ensuring Guest needs are being met. Open additional checkout options and request assistance as needed.
• Assist cashiers as needed (overrides, questions, etc).
• Create and manage daily schedules and control sheets for maximum efficiency and program compliance. Dictate the break/lunch plan while maintaining Front End coverage.
• Monitor cash control procedures as needed. Order Front End supplies to fill needs while being conscious of cost.
• Train and coach Front End Team Members on efficiencies, best practices, Service Culture, and loss prevention tactics.
• Support Front End Leader with special project or “champion” assignments.
