Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Courtesy Clerk in Des Moines, IA, to support customers from checkout to vehicle, keep aisles neat, and help maintain a welcoming store environment. This part-time position requires enthusiasm for customer service and teamwork.

You will assist customers, stock shelves, and help other departments as needed. Training is provided, and safety and hygiene standards are emphasized throughout with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and customers happy.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide friendly service.
• Bag groceries and assist customers with transporting them to their vehicle.
• Stock, face, rotate merchandise, and keep shelves neat and tagged.
• Maintain cleanliness of registers, restrooms, break room, and floors.
• Assist in other store areas as needed and train new courtesy clerks.
