Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Front-End Supervisor to assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while maintaining a safe, clean store environment and delivering outstanding customer service.

You will help schedule associates, monitor costs and cash handling, support budgeting and loss prevention, and ensure food safety and compliance with company standards, policies and local laws.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
• Assist with monitoring and control supply expenses for the department.
• Assist with managing cash control, sales and cash items and records for the store.
• Manage the scheduling of Front-end associates to provide adequate department coverage.
• Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take action on financial reports.
• Assist with creating and executing budgets and scheduling of labor in partnership with store management.
• Collaborate with Front-end associates and promote teamwork.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
• Report safety risks or issues and assist with safety programs.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support through interaction with diverse customer groups.
