Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and help control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work well in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
