Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a front-end associate to provide fast, friendly service and maintain store standards in Carrollton, VA. You will greet customers, process transactions, and support the Customer Service Manager in delivering a top-notch shopping experience.

Responsibilities include operating the register, handling payments, assisting with To-Go orders when needed, and keeping the front end clean and organized. Must wear the uniform and meet safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and organize items for bagging.
• Handle cash transactions and process payments per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds, overrides and cash control.
• Assist customers with Food Lion To-Go orders when applicable.
• Maintain a neat and clean front end and work station.
• Report any register malfunction or maintenance needs to management.
