Job summary

Food Lion in Midlothian, VA is seeking a Front End Customer Service/Cashier associate to deliver fast, friendly service at the store. You will greet customers, scan orders, handle payments, bag groceries, and help with to-go orders while maintaining accurate cash handling and store appearance.

You will work as part of a team to meet service standards, follow safety and cash procedures, and support daily store operations, including assisting customers and stocking as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, accurate, and friendly service to customers.
• Greet customers by name when possible and engage to create a positive shopping experience.
• Scan orders and handle payments following standard procedures.
• Bag groceries correctly and maintain neat front-end area.
• Assist with Food Lion To-Go orders and cashier surges as needed.
• Follow cash handling procedures and overrides per policy.
• Maintain cash control and report any issues to management.
