Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Sound judgement/decision making skills.
• Friendly, approachable/outgoing demeanor; team player.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions.
• Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner and assist them by escorting them to products and helping with items.
• Anticipate customer needs and communicate effectively to resolve issues and strengthen loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit and labor goals with cost control and shrink reduction.
• Determine work priorities to maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate customer check-out and ensure policies and laws are followed.
• Train and coach associates on front end policies including handling of product, tender, coupons, and price checks.
• Communicate pricing/signage discrepancies to pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for service operations manager in their absence.
• Maintain knowledge of checkout policies and procedures, operations and bookkeeping.
• Operate equipment (scanner, register, scale, etc.) per standards.
• Assist with front-end functions like checkout, stocking, bagging, cart collection, cleaning.
• Comply with food safety, sanitation and safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
