Job summary

Food Lion in Franklinton, NC is hiring for a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service at the register and assist customers with purchases. You will greet customers, operate the POS, handle cash and payments, and maintain a neat front-end area.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to learn multiple tasks; physical requirements include standing most of the shift and lifting up to 50 lbs. This is an entry-level position with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Maintain knowledge of office procedures including cash reports, register checkups, deposits, Western Union, money orders and Coinstar.
• Maintain proper knowledge of all sales associate register functions and Front End accounting services.
