Job summary

Mahoney's Garden Center is seeking a Cashier Supervisor to support front-end operations, train cashiers on POS procedures, and help manage daily register activity. The role focuses on accurate transactions, customer engagement, and smooth scheduling to meet store needs.

You will oversee cash handling, assist in complex transactions, and coordinate with store management on weekly schedules and cashier performance. This is a great opportunity within a busy garden center environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience working with a POS system (Counterpoint preferred).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor front-end register operations, assist with manual transactions, troubleshoot issues and relay to proper channels.
• Ensure cashiers engage with customers per policies and assist with product location knowledge.
• Create and maintain cashier scheduling to ensure proper staffing.
• Provide POS training materials and demonstrations, plus ongoing updates for staff.
• Maintain front-end store appearance of registers and replace damaged items.
• Operate register terminals, balance POS drawers and ensure accurate daily transactions.
• Prepare register banks for daily submission to cash office and reconcile banks.
• Support inventory movement with department managers and staff.
