Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service at our Chesapeake store. You will greet customers, ring up items, bag groceries and help maintain a clean, efficient front end. The role emphasizes accuracy, courtesy and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging.
• Check cart bottoms and under seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow bagging procedures and assist customers with checkout.
• Handle cash, checks, coupons, gift cards and vouchers according to standard practice.
• Report any register malfunctions to management.
• Maintain clean, neat front end area and station.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and follow company policies.
