Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Store Associate in Petersburg, IN to assist customers and process sales while upholding our core values. You will deliver excellent service, operate the checkout, handle refunds and money orders, and maintain a clean, efficient checkstand area.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the desk, processing transactions, providing lottery services, and supporting price checks, faxes, and lost-and-found.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk.
• Must be at least 18 years old (or 19 in some locations for tobacco).
• Ability to pass a drug test and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work weekends, various shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and follow company policies.
• Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and process sales, upholding core values.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain checkout area.
• Open/close desk, process refunds, exchanges, money orders, and other payments.
• Provide lottery services, send/receive faxes, and manage lost and found.
• Operate cash register and handle produce codes, price checks, and discrepancies.
• Respond to EAS tags activations and ensure tag removal as needed.
• Maintain store accounting functions and bank deposits.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts calmly.
