Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Store Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service and help maintain a neat, organized front end. You will greet customers, scan items, handle payments and bag groceries while following standard procedures.

You will be expected to assist the Customer Service Manager and team, maintain accurate cash handling, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards. Training is provided and flexibility may be required to meet store needs.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt for ease of bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures and handle payments per standard practice.
• Handle cash, checks, coupons, gift cards and vouchers per procedures.
• Maintain neat, clean front end area and proper dress code.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car.
