Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a front-end associate to provide fast, friendly service and support store operations in Plymouth, NC. You will greet customers, handle transactions, assist with bagging and product safety, and maintain a clean front-end area.

Employees must meet age and physical requirements, be reliable, and follow standard procedures while delivering excellent service. Training will cover CBT modules and front-end standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging.
• Check cart bottoms and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow bagging procedures for bag types and correct handling of cash and payments.
• Handle refunds and error corrections per procedures.
• Maintain cash control and report issues to management.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car.
• Keep workstation and front end clean and presentable.
