Job summary

ShopRite of PHILLIPSBURG is seeking a detail-oriented Cashier to deliver friendly, efficient checkout service. You will accurately scan, bag, and process payments while promoting promotions and maintaining a clean front-end area.

This role requires strong English skills, basic math, teamwork, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift light weights. Stay compliant with safety standards and customer-first policies during each shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Ability to work with products and in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly, helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to follow time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Accurately scan and bag products; handle payments and provide correct change.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Promote current promotions to customers.
• Perform duties in accordance with Company policies and safety standards.
• Stand at register for the duration of scheduled shifts.
