Job summary

Kroger is seeking an associate to assist customers and process sales while upholding the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. You will deliver excellent customer service at the checkstand, perform cashier functions, and maintain a clean, organized space.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the register, handling tender, processing refunds and exchanges, providing lottery service where allowed, and ensuring EAS tags are deactivated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum 18 years of age; 19 in Idaho/Alaska if selling tobacco.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and process sales.
• Open/close register, ring sales, tender transactions, bag merchandise.
• Answer telephones and provide lottery service where allowed.
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the checkstand area and comply with policies.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated/removed from products.
• Respond to EAS activations and verify tag removal.
• Run vendor reports and support store accounting functions.
