Job summary

Kroger is seeking a part-time Store Associate to assist customers and process sales at the front end. You will perform cashier duties, answer phones, and maintain desk operations with a focus on accuracy and courtesy.

Responsibilities include processing refunds and gift cards, handling money orders, and ensuring security protocols at the point of sale. Availability on weekends and in a fast-paced setting is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Must be 18+ (or 19+ in certain states) to sell tobacco per local laws.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends, various shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and assist customers at the desk and throughout the store.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, handle tenders, bag merchandise, and produce accurate pricing.
• Maintain price discrepancy logs and ensure checkout area stays clean.
• Answer phones and follow company policies; support store initiatives and compliance.
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders, gift cards, and other desk transactions; provide lottery services where allowed.
• Ensure security tags are deactivated/removed at checkout and respond to alarms as required.
