Job summary

The Kroger store in Winfield, KS is hiring for a Store Associate role focused on customer service and cashier duties. You will assist customers, process sales, manage the register, and handle refunds, exchanges and money orders while maintaining store standards and following company policies.

You will also support store operations, including pricing accuracy, lottery service, faxes, and lost-and-found, with an emphasis on honesty, integrity and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or combination of relevant education and experience.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum age 18 (19 in some states if selling tobacco).
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends regularly and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions, including open/close register and ringing sales.
• Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to housekeeping standards.
• Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies.
• Provide lottery service and other Customer Service Desk duties.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated or removed at point of sale.
• Respond to EAS pedestal activations as necessary.
