Job summary

Optical Outlets is seeking a friendly patient-care assistant to support doctors and the office manager while delivering exceptional service to every visitor. You will greet patients, verify insurance, check-in and pretest, explain pricing, answer calls, and assist with eyewear fitting to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate records from the first contact.

• One to two years of experience in related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquiries.
• Effective written communication skills to clearly document patient visits.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify patient needs.
• Ability to listen, process transactions and interact with patients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFM)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment

• Handle tasks such as adjusting, or fitting eyewear carefully and correctly, ensuring details are thorough and exact
• Inform Office Manager of any office problems noted by staff, doctors, or patients
• Perform all tasks assigned by Office Manager
