We are looking for a personable, detail-oriented, and guest-focused Front Desk Supervisor to join our team at our boutique hotel in Santa Monica. In this key role, you will oversee daily front desk operations during your shift, support and guide front desk agents, and ensure every guest receives personalized, high-quality service from the moment they arrive.
As a Front Desk Supervisor, you’ll be the go-to person for both staff and guests - resolving issues, answering questions, and ensuring smooth, efficient front desk performance. You’ll work closely with the Assistant Front Office Manager and other departments to deliver a seamless, memorable guest experience that reflects the charm and standards of our unique property.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support front desk staff during assigned shifts
- Ensure smooth check-in/check-out processes and handle guest requests or concerns promptly
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding guest service and upholding hotel standards
- Train and mentor new team members as needed
- Monitor shift operations, delegate tasks, and ensure team efficiency
- Assist with reservations, billing, and room assignment coordination
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guest readiness
- Address operational issues or guest escalations with professionalism and care
Skills
- Proficiency in hotel management and reservations systems.
- Written and verbal communication skills using clear and professional language.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to diplomatically interact with many personality types.
- Ability to problem solve in a high-pressure environment.
- Compliance with company grooming, appearance and attire standards.
- Stable employment record.
- Some standing at the desk and in lobby areas.
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Commitment to regular attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work flexible shifts.
- Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Thorough knowledge of customer service, office management and basic bookkeeping procedures
- Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities
- Problem-solving skills
- High School diploma; additional certification is a plus
