Description

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor’s office. Responsibilities include patient customer service, scheduling, data entry, managing electronic health records, and patient education.

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist provides support and administrative services in a busy medical environment, involving tasks such as patient service, appointment scheduling, data entry, and record management.

Required Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • 2+ years of administrative support in a medical setting (preferred)
  • Knowledge of health insurance, pre-authorization, medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 codes (preferred)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Professionalism and strong work ethic
  • Teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to learn
  • Effective multitasking and communication skills under pressure
  • Upholding HIPAA compliance
  • Good judgment and discretion
  • Technologically savvy, familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Word, Excel
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and address inquiries
  • Answer calls, provide information, transfer or take messages
  • Schedule appointments
  • Register new patients and update existing records
  • Notify providers of patient arrivals, manage delays, communicate with staff
  • Maintain and update patient records
  • Collect payments and sell OTC items
  • Manage multiple doctor schedules
  • Follow up on orthotics and appointments
  • Maintain inventory and equipment
  • Verify insurance and referrals, prepare reports, assist with billing issues
  • Perform additional office tasks as needed
Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, talk, hear, use hands, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
