Responsibilities

  1. Maintain the highest level of customer service during patient check-ins, updates, and answering phones.
  2. Interview patients or their representatives to gather and record personal and insurance information.
  3. Verify, update, and scan patient information.
  4. Track patient information in the Electronic Medical Record, collect co-pays, and ensure form completion.
  5. Complete patient check-out, including settling balances, providing correspondence, and scheduling follow-ups.
  6. Enter patient admitting information into the computer, and collect payments.
  7. Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, staff, and physicians, especially when receiving feedback.
  8. Comply with all relevant laws including HIPAA, OSHA, and FLSA, maintaining confidentiality.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. At least 2 years of customer service experience.
  3. 1 year of experience in a medical setting preferred.
