Customer Service and Front Desk Representative
Provides superior customer service, positively influences interactions with customers and employees, and demonstrates resiliency in dealing with difficult customers under various business conditions. Works harmoniously with coworkers.
- Greet guests in the lobby, assist with line management and crowd control.
- Prepare audit worksheets and Daily Flash Reports.
- Register guests and process check-outs.
- Balance and audit all room and tax charges, cashier reports, and guest and house accounts for accuracy.
- Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports, including customer tracking to ensure accurate hotel revenue and expense accounting.
- Communicate with other hotel departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and exchange information.
- Perform Guest Service Representative functions, including booking reservations, answering hotel calls, notifying guests of messages, and managing department keys security.
- Verify room charges and rates; ensure register has appropriate starting cash.
- Manage daily paperwork such as occupancy reports, guest lists, cash drawer summaries, balance sheets, account summaries, history files, and housekeeping reports.
- Make management decisions in the absence of the manager if required.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in computer keyboard, 10-key, and calculator use.
- Effective communication with co-workers and management.
- Accurate review and audit of relevant information.
- Proficiency with adding machines and computer input terminals.
- Ability to solve mathematically oriented problems.
- Uphold the highest level of integrity and recognize standards in a regulated business environment.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in Front Desk operations or a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field with one year of related experience.
- Previous hotel front office/night audit experience preferred.
- Clerical background preferred.

- May be exposed to smoking environments and moderate noise levels.
- Fast-paced, high-volume environment requiring constant alertness.
- Ability to stoop, reach, and bend as necessary.
- Respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest demands in a fast-paced setting.
