Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Guest Services Agent in Torrance, CA. The role covers front desk responsibilities, guest relations, and coordination with operations management to ensure smooth hotel operations.

The GSA serves as the primary contact for guests and front desk systems, delivering Sonesta Service with professionalism and warmth during shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of hotel or retail customer service preferred.
• Fluent English; strong communication skills.
• Experience with Opera PMS and Microsoft Office preferred.
• ServSafe and/or TIPS certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location. Answer phones promptly.
• Process cash and credit card transactions according to procedures.
• Maintain security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information.
• Routinely book guest reservations and upsell rooms when possible.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategy and collaborate with shifts and management.
• Serve the shoppe and pour, adhering to local alcohol laws.
• Fulfill guest special requests and ensure delivery of services.
• Issue and manage guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Comply with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
