Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in Torrance, CA is seeking a Guest Services Agent to support the front desk, guest relations, and guest services during shifts. You will register guests, answer calls, process payments, and help ensure a warm, seamless arrival experience.

Ideal candidates bring strong English communication, basic math skills, and familiarity with hotel software. This role requires mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with pay around $23.50–$24.00 per hour and benefits

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of hotel or retail customer service preferred.
• English fluency; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math, budgeting, and variances preferred.
• Problem solving, organizational and training abilities preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• ServSafe certification may be required.
• TIPS certification may be required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Standing and lifting up to 50 pounds; shift work including mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Register guests, issue keys, and provide information; answer phones promptly.
• Process cash and card transactions; post charges and prepare deposits.
• Maintain security of cash, cards, and guest info.
• Routinely book reservations; up-sell rooms when possible.
• Follow seasonal demand strategies for room pricing.
• Promote teamwork and quality service across shifts.
• Service shoppe and pour; follow local alcohol laws.
• Fulfill guest special requests and deliver services.
• Issue and release guest safes.
• Comply with health, safety and alcohol service laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
