Job summary

Utah Veterinary Emergency Center (UVEC) in Herriman, UT, seeks a warm, sharp Receptionist to be the first contact for families. You’ll greet clients, handle phones, scheduling, billing, and front-desk coordination with a calm, compassionate approach as a foundational member of a fast-paced veterinary team.

You’ll learn veterinary terminology, triage urgency, and how to clearly communicate medical information, with growth paths toward technician credentials or practice management.

Qualifications

• Front desk experience in a client-facing role is required.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate billing and records.
• Comfort with practice management software; veterinary software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism—especially in high-stress situations.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client inquiries with clarity and empathy.
• Check clients in and out, process payments, and maintain accurate billing records.
• Collect and verify patient and client information for medical records.
• Communicate wait times, procedures, and discharge instructions as directed by the clinical team.
• Coordinate client flow and keep the front desk organized during high-volume periods.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and inventory of front-office supplies.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming reception and waiting area.
• Relay critical client communications to the veterinary team promptly and accurately.
• Represent UVEC’s standard of care and professionalism in every interaction.
