At Retina Institute of Illinois, we believe in providing compassionate and conscientious retinal care to our patients, with the goal of improving eyesight and preventing loss of vision.

Established over 15 years ago, the Retina Institute of Illinois has been providing outstanding retinal care to the Chicago-land area and surrounding suburbs.

The Front Desk Associate provides exceptional patient service, both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities include interviewing patients or their representatives to gather complete demographic, financial, and insurance information for billing and collections, performing clerical duties, managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, processing medical records requests, entering patient data, and accepting payments.

Pay Range - $18.00-$23.00/hr. Commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:
  1. Display professionalism and deliver excellent customer service
  2. Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information
  3. Verify insurance coverage and collect copays, co-insurance, and balances
  4. Ensure all patient forms are signed and complete
  5. Manage communication channels including phone lines, messaging portals, email, and fax
  6. Schedule appointments
  7. Process medical record requests according to policies
  8. Coordinate with clinical staff to enhance patient experience
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a medical or healthcare setting
  • Minimum 2 years experience with healthcare insurance
  • Strong computer skills with at least 30 WPM typing speed
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable, organized, and professional appearance
  • Quick learner with problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of medical terminology
