Mercer University in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Front Desk Assistant for the College of Education. This hourly student position handles greeting visitors, phone inquiries, mail, data entry, and basic records maintenance while supporting admissions staff.
The role requires Microsoft Office familiarity, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn. Schedule 20 hours per week with start 09/01/2026 and end 05/17/2027; supervision by Autumn Johnson.
This is an hourly paid student position for the College of Education located in Atlanta, Ga. The Front Desk Assistant will be the first contact for students/guests entering the office or calling the office. Administrative functions include but are not limited to answering phone calls, handling incoming and outgoing mail, data entry and analysis, flyer creation, and paper/electronic record maintenance. This position requires knowledge of Microsoft office software and a willingness to learn more, as well as interpersonal skills to work with graduate students. Also, Student Assistants must be willing to talk to new students and families in person or virtually as well as support the admissions staff at events when needed. Other duties will be assigned by the Director of Graduate Admissions for the College of Education. . In addition, this position may require some evening and weekend hours, but they will be kept to a minimum. The student assistant will also maintain a professional appearance, work with various computer applications and software, such as Excel, and Word, as well as assist faculty, staff, and students when needed.
Pay rate: $13.00/hour
