The Lodge at Torrey Pines is seeking an experienced Front Desk Agent to warmly welcome guests, check them in and out, and coordinate with hotel services to ensure a seamless stay. Requirements include 1–2 years of guest service experience, weekend/holiday availability, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Proactively provides our guests with personal service and attention that exceeds their expectations.
• Assists with Valet operations as needed based on business needs, including parking and retrieving guest vehicles while providing professional guest service.
• Plays a key role in ensuring that all guest needs are met in a timely manner by interacting and communicating closely with other departments in the hotel.
• Continuously provides excellent customer service when making reservations and uses effective up-selling techniques.
• Maintains a house bank and conforms to established cash handling procedures.
• Processes guest billing using cash, checks, credit cards and special billing.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• For insurance purposes, candidates must be over 21 years of age.
• Must have an unexpired and valid driver's license with no recent violations.
• Must be able to safely operate vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Experience in dealing with the public is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.
