Job Summary

Greets and registers guests, provides prompt and courteous service, and closes out guest accounts upon completion of stay, ensuring an exceptional experience to meet the hotel's high standards of quality.

Essential Job Functions

This description summarizes primary responsibilities and qualifications. The hotel operates 24/7, so shift hours may vary.

  1. Greet guests warmly and promptly, using positive communication, listening to requests, and providing accurate information about services and local attractions.
  2. Complete registration by entering and retrieving data from the computer system, confirming guest details, selecting rooms, and coding electronic keys, certificates, and coupons.
  3. Verify credit cards for authorization, handle cash, make change, and balance the house bank. Accept various payment methods and post charges to guest accounts accurately.
  4. Answer phone calls professionally, relay messages, and handle mail and packages as requested.
  5. Close guest accounts at checkout, ensuring guest satisfaction and resolving issues within guidelines, escalating to supervisors when necessary.
  6. Address guest complaints by researching and resolving problems, maintaining calmness during emergencies, and keeping the work area tidy.
  7. Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures, including emergency protocols and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  8. Maintain a neat appearance and assist colleagues as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Equivalent education and experience may be considered. A high school diploma is preferred. Hospitality experience is a plus but not required. Skills include proficient calculator use, effective communication, computer literacy, and the ability to observe emergency signs.

Physical Demands
  • Stand and move throughout the front office for most of the shift.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and walking. Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
