Overview

Assist guests with arrival and departure from hotel, providing positive guest experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Greet guests promptly with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to requests, respond appropriately, and provide accurate information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
  2. Complete registration by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming guest details, and making room assignments based on guest needs.
  3. Code electronic keys, confirm room number and rate non-verbally, and provide welcome folders with keys, certificates, coupons, and refreshments as appropriate.
  4. Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization, handle cash, make change, and balance the house bank.
  5. Accept and record various payment methods, convert foreign currency, and post charges to guest accounts.
  6. Answer phones promptly, relay messages, and handle mail and packages as requested.
  7. Close guest accounts at check-out, ensure guest satisfaction, and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.
  8. Remain calm during emergencies and busy periods, using judgment and discretion to manage situations.
  9. Maintain regular attendance and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  2. Hotel experience preferred.
  3. Proficient in calculator use and basic math.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and tact.
  5. Ability to stand and move freely throughout the front office area.
  6. Ability to accurately input information into a computer system.
  7. Awareness of emergency procedures and signs of safety issues.
  8. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Adaptability in communication style for different audiences.
