Job Overview

The Fairfield by Marriott El Paso Airport Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing a positive guest experience while managing the customer-facing administrative processes of the hotel.

Essential Functions
  1. Providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests prior to arrival and throughout their stay, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
  2. Maintaining proper operation of the telephone switchboard.
  3. Answering guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours of operation.
  4. Establishing and maintaining good communication and teamwork with fellow associates and other departments within the hotel.
  5. Responding to guest requests in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Maintaining confidentiality and security of all guests and hotel information.
  7. Documenting all guest requests, complaints, or problems immediately and notifying the designated department for resolution. Following up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  8. Being aware of all rates, packages, and promotions.
  9. Being familiar with all in-house groups and high-demand/restricted dates.
  10. Taking all necessary information when taking room reservations and following rate quoting scenarios.
  11. Being knowledgeable of the front desk computer system.
  12. Logging and delivering packages, mail, and messages.
  13. Sharing knowledge of the property, amenities, and local attractions.
  14. Accurately completing the check-in and checkout process.
  15. Using creative reasoning and brand standard service tools to overcome guest objections and ensure satisfaction.
  16. Restocking front desk area and supplies as required or assigned.
  17. Following checklists and performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  2. Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
  3. Problem-solving skills to effectively deal with customers.
  4. Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to work well under stress.
  6. Basic math skills.
  7. Ability to obtain alcohol awareness certification as required.
  8. Willingness to work varied schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  9. Proficiency in Windows OS, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  10. Clear communication skills.
  11. Desire to serve guests.
  12. Legal age to serve alcohol at applicable properties.

  1. Experience in hospitality or related fields.
  2. Brand knowledge and experience.
